Samantha Prince, Executive Director and Dedicated Interviewer

Sam began working at Safe Place in 2020 as both the Executive Director and dedicated interviewer. Each year, Sam interviews around 175-250 children and adults who have report that they have experienced sexual or physical abuse. Sam is also able to offer interviews to witnesses of trauma. Although interviewing is Sam's primary contribution to the multidisciplinary team (MDT), she is also responsible for facilitating team meetings and assisting with team coordination, as the MDT Facilitator.
Sam has been working in the field of child maltreatment, mental illness, and abuse dynamics for more than 10 years. She has attended hundreds of training hours related to the scope of the work as well as interviewing. Sam also works for the Vermont Children's Alliance to provide outreach, education, and prevention work to children and professionals throughout the State of Vermont.
Sam is most passionate about making a profound impact on the community and with each individual she serves. She is committed to a trauma-informed, victim-centered approach that considers the whole person and experience.

SAFE PLACE SUPPORTERS
The Vermont Children's Alliance (VCA) is the state chapter that supports and advocates for all thirteen of Vermont's Child Advocacy Centers. The VCA provides training and education to CAC staff as well as the CAC's Multidisciplinary Teams.

In addition, the VCA advocates for CACs on a local, state, and federal level, to ensure that CACs have the funding, opportunities and recognition they need to deliver imperative services to Vermont's most vulnerable population: the children that report sexual abuse and physical violence.
Safe Place and other Vermont CACs also receive support, resources, and advocacy form the National Children's Alliance. The NCA produces standards for CACs to meet in order to provide the most effective services, based on research and best practice. Safe Place has been a Nationally Accredited Center since 2015 and was reaccredited in 2021. Safe Place will again pursue reaccreditation in 2026. Learn more!
